A roundup of PEcAn project activities and highlights from 2016.

Across the year, the project combined regular software releases with workshops, invited talks, and hands-on collaborations that broadened both the platform and its user community.

Releases and Major Updates

PEcAn 1.4.7 Release (January 2017)

This release included significant updates and improvements to the PEcAn platform.

PEcAn 1.4.6 Released (March 2016)

This version brought various bug fixes and enhancements to the system.

PEcAn 1.4.5 Released (February 2016)

Another incremental release with important improvements and bug fixes.

Workshops and Courses

PEcAn at Flux Course (July 2016)

The team returned to teach at the annual Flux Course, providing hands-on training in ecosystem modeling and data analysis.

PEcAn at Harvard Forest REU (July 2016)

The team presented PEcAn to Research Experience for Undergraduates participants at Harvard Forest.

PEcAn Workshop May 2016

A dedicated PEcAn workshop was held in May 2016 to train new users and gather feedback from the community.

Ecological Forecasting book accepted! (June 2016)

A major milestone - the ecological forecasting textbook was accepted for publication.

PEcAn at ESA Sustaining Biological Infrastructure Workshop (May 2016)

The team participated in this important workshop focused on sustaining scientific infrastructure.

PEcAn at PROFOUND spring course (April 2016)

Team members contributed to the PROFOUND spring training course.

PEcAn at ILAMB meeting (April 2016)

The project was represented at the International Land Model Benchmarking (ILAMB) meeting.
